Monday {Accessorizing} Workwear

I continue to look for ways to freshen up my standard workwear uniform. A consistent trend throughout the waterfall of fashion weeks was the over sized clutch.



After hauling a bucket bag around all winter it's time to spring clean down to the very basics - and a clutch that holds my laptop and a handful of essentials could be the perfect fit!

Nature Made

I love giving a nod to the natural world through my accessories.



I'd love to flash feathers, wood or semi precious stones from my ears, neck, wrist and fingers. Such a glam-looking way to keep it real!

Ain't She Sweet

With day light savings time just around the corner, that must mean spring is too, right?! Please say yes.

Well, regardless, better to be prepared than to be caught buried under nothing but wool sweaters when the warmer temps finally arrive. That's where Raoul comes in.

Stock up on the shorts, wedges, blouses and sherbet inspired-color palette from the line's new spring looks and you'll be beyond prepared for when the time is (finally!) right.

LOUNGIN'

Blogging at you live from a sunny little apartment in LA, dressed in my best PJ's...

While I'm enjoying a return to my more relaxed lifestyle (no need to be dressed at 7am!) I think I may take a cue from this stunning shoot and start investing in some fabulous loungewear so when the UPS guy knocks on my door, I'm at least somewhat presentable...

Layers of jewels  make all the difference... (even if they are a bit crazy)

But the hair? I'd have to hire a stylist for that. I think I'll be sticking with my simple topknot for now...

Monday {For Your Hair} Workwear

I'm a big fan of accessorizing to separate your look from the pack, but I never think of my hair style as an opportunity to do that - but I'm realizing it's a totally untapped resource! Instead of the same-old, same-old, I'd love to introduce a fresh new look into my dailyhair routine.




From soft round waves to that fab fishtail side braid, there's got to be a workable option out there for a hair novice like myself.

If, like me, you need a little more detailed instruction to pull off a new look, the lovely Emily and darling Anna provide easy to follow tutorials that will help you look salon-styled in no time!

HAPPY WEEKEND...

I'm doing my last weekend in LA up right...

Crossing my fingers for some sunshine and beach time! Although I think the feathery dress may be a little over the top...

I'm so loving how early 90's this shoot feels too. Fresh simple makeup with a bold lip and oversized earrings? Like, totally.

FALLING FOR SPRING

Hello lovelies, Crissie here from bug&Bear! This week I'm still gushing over the color trends that were presented in the fall runway shows last month. The trouble is, we're just gearing up for spring looks, and fall seems much to far off to think about! So I drew some inspiration from the fall color palettes- camels and blues with pops of gorgeous green- and translated them into warm weather ready outfits for spring! 

Now all we need is the sunshine to hurry up and get here!

My eyes might be bigger than my fashion stomach can take, but I'm still just completely enamored with all things oversized.



Especially when those things are luscious leather bags. I feel a new collectors item coming on!

Such a perfect mix of girlish details with that casual feel that Alexa always brings to her style. Can I have all three ensembles please?? (PS - I've decided that red ballet flats should be in every woman's wardrobe. I adore mine!)

Apparently, I'm stuck on laid back looks right now. {Maybe it's because I have a little min-vacy on the horizon. But more on that later!}

I think this may have to be my new spring uniform, sassed up slightly with a few accessories and sky-high heels, of course.



I could happily live is blazers, white leg extending trousers and the minimalist color palette for the next three months.

HELLO FROM LA!!

Hello lovely friends!! I can't tell you how wonderful it's felt to be back in my hometown of LA...

I flew in Saturday afternoon to loads of chilly but beautiful sunshine, and it's already been a whirlwind of fun! We kicked things off with a premiere party for the adorable and talented Emily Henderson's Secrets From a Stylist on Saturday night (have you watched? did you love?).

Then Sunday it was off to brunch with friends before heading to lunch at the stunning estate of Tony Duquette - Dawnridge - which I'll share more of later today.

After that we buzzed around town taking in some Oscar energy and ended the evening with a wonderful dinner at Ago, hosted by the folks at Sub-Zero. (The most amazingly delicate ravioli I've ever had!).

I've hardly had a moment to breathe and will be speaking in just a couple of hours for the Design Bloggers Conference, so I'm off to get ready! More photos and fun from la la land soon...

Monday {Keep It Easy} Workwear

On Monday mornings you've got more than enough on your to-do list , right? A major wardrobe choice should not have to be one of them.



Make life easy by pairing a classic tee and a simple trouser with a dash of one of spring's hottest colors. I'd happily take a little hit of my coral and call it good to go.

Monday {Don't Mess with the Dress} Workwear

Though I trend towards pants, virtually everyday, I must admit that I get a good rush when I step out in what I know is a good looking dress.



The Spring 2011 collection from  Edelweiss by Sarah would kickstart the week! I love the perfectly placed hemline, practical pockets and spot on color palette.

If that's not enough to convince, her just debuted Fall 2011 collection is just as sassy - as you can tell from the video lookbook!

KELSEY GENNA: BEGONIA HOUSE

Good morning friends! I know you're as ready for spring as I am these days, so I'm pretty sure you're going to love this adorable collection I discovered this weekend - not just for the mounds of pretty little dresses and details, but the sweet, flowery shoot too!



Created by Kelsey Genna, the collection is called 'Begonia House' and is based in New Zealand. The designer herself? Yeah. She's only 19...



My favorite part of these dresses might be the stunning low backs. Nothing sexier, in my opinion! If only I could get my hands on one for my upcoming trip to LA! It would be perfect for this almost-spring weather...
