LOOKING FORWARD: J.CREW SPRING 2011

Forget the runways. If you want to know where color is really heading, look no further than the J.Crew Spring 2011 collection for some serious inspiration...

The palette is retro and the shapes simple and wearable as always.

I'm especially loving the bubblegum pinks, emerald greens, and every possible shade of denim blue. But my favorite combo might be that rich bronze with a pop of lilac. Yum.

Tommy Hilifger Spring 2011 {A Taste Treat}

I promise to share a delicious Tasty Tuesday post that is in fact food based a bit later toady, but after I watched the Tommy Hilfiger show in action last night (did you know a bunch of shows are live streaming?!) I could not wait another second to share with you the sweetness of the shoes that graced the runway.





They're just as yummy in action, don't you think? I'd happily forgo all of my favorite fall boots if I could get my hands on a pair or two right now!

Monday Work Wear {Fashion Week Inspired}

I've always found it a bit nuts and rather torturous to watch the Spring RTW shows as fall descends on us while I've yet to break in my the new season's boots. Why must designers tantilize me with bright colors, tiny tanks and paper thin dresses? But as I've begun to dig into this year's looks I've been pleasantly surprised by the timely inspiration available in the spring lines.

Here are a few of the trends that I plan on encorporating asap:

The first is (my fave) neutral/nude palate. It allows for seamless transition from season to season. Throw a blazer over that dress or a pair of tights under the shorts and these looks by Doo.Ri are September ready.



You can also never go wrong with a classic pencil skirt, especially one in lush leather. Thank you Preen and Derek Lam for helping a girl out.



But then I also love seeing the hemlines drop.

I need to add these lush, feminine looks in my fall lineup STAT!

And don't even get me started on the Tommy Hilfiger show I watched tonight. As soon as pics become available I'll be sharing my faves, i.e. the entire collection. Don't look so surprised! You'll see what I mean shortly.

BOLD + BOHEMIAN: JULES REID

It's no wonder that my love for a mix of bold color and bohemian style has been ignited after a weekend in LA. After all, it's where designers like Tori Burch or Tibi thrive. Well, here's a new designer to add to that list - Jules Reid.

Jules' cuts are classic and their patterns inspired by time spent growing up in India as well as her love of Pucci, Jackie O, and David Hicks. An insanely fabulous combination of inspiration if you ask me!

While there is definitely a bohemian flair to Jules' style, her pieces also hold an element of elegance and refined detail. Having tried on both of these lovely dresses below, I can also say that the quality is beautiful...

Plus, I love her offerings for more casual days. A maxi sundress and tailored tunic are obvious must-haves! To check out her whole spring/summer collection, pop over to her site for more fabulousness. And, I can't wait to have the perfect excuse to wear my beautiful dresses, too!

Sole-full Decor {Spring Edition}

I'm loving the mix and match of the spring trends. They provide the perfect amount of versatility and my favorite, tons of sky-high heels. Translate it all into decor and no matter which direction you go, you really can't take a wrong turn. 

You might prefer sweet whites,

Or perhaps spring pinks,

then there are the supple neutrals,

And the exuberant brights.

Really, there's a look to suit any mood. Now if only changing decor was as easy as shoes! That's why I invest in big closets.

Hello my dears!! I hope you all had a delightful weekend! As most of you know, Saturday was the first official day of spring, and we had plenty of sunshine in Seattle to celebrate. Buuuut... I think we need to do a little something special around here too...

FRESH + BRIGHT: READY FOR SPRING!

The countdown is on people. Spring is officially weeks away and I for one am prepping my wardrobe while dreaming of breezy dresses and colorful chunky necklaces...
And that Balenciaga clutch that I put in just about every inspiration board because I love it so much. I can't wait for fresh white linen with pops of brights all the way through to September. The best part? the shoes (Lela Rose for Payless) and hat (Forever21) are completely affordable! The rad sunglasses though? Those you'll have to save up for.

SPRING STYLING AT ANTHRO

Since so many of you have been asking for a peek into life at Anthropologie, I thought I'd share a little of our spring styling with you! One of my tasks yesterday was to pot up the plants and set a seasonal table...
Isn't it fresh? We're just starting to roll out our spring goodies, and you better believe the colorful floral dishes are amongst my favorites... I can't wait to get all the product in!
Also on the table... these linens, the classic fleur de lys glasses, some yummy candles (my favorite are the rosemary mint), pretty mallorca coaster tiles (wanted desperately for my living room), and sweet folding garden chairs.
And, for the record, yes, I still have dirt under my fingernails. Not a bad way to spend a day at work, eh?
