FOODIE FASHIONISTA: SOFT AND SWEET

Hello dear readers- it's Crissie from bug&Bear here with another installment of Foodie Fashionista! The winter weather that we're getting slammed with out here in NYC has me day dreaming of all things soft and sweet to lend a little warmth - something like the blushing glow that comes from the palest shades of pink. Isn't it just delicious?

FOODIE FASHIONISTA: ON THE RED CARPET

Hello readers! Crissie from bug&Bear here, and I am thrilled that it is award season again, aren't you? I adore watching what the stars choose to wear down the red carpet - spotting the trends, gushing over the best dressed and ruthlessly mocking the worst.
The Golden Globes gave us a few lovely colors that thrilled me with their easy translation to the table. Gowns in gorgeous emerald greens and sweet, soft blushes mix wonderfully into a simple (yet unexpected!) shrimp soup....

What were your favorite gowns of the Globes?

FOODIE FASHIONISTA: BRIGHT NEW YEAR

Hello all, Crissie from bug&Bear here to share one of my favorite color combinations from the Pre-Fall 2011 collections - the fresh mix of orange and pink. Preen did it brilliantly-
And since it's the resolution time of the year why not draw our foodie inspirations from the classically healthy grapefruit? Mmmm, 2011 feels like it's going to be a bright, bright year.

FOODIE FASHIONISTA: LOVELY LILAC

Hello readers! Crissie here, back with some more tabletop inspiration...

This week's hostess isn't afraid to take risks, that much was clear the moment she opened the door in that stunning one-shouldered Marchesa number, and it didn't stop there.

For this, the grandest of fall meals she chose to throw a playful twist at the traditional color palette. Isn't a little shock of lavender just what the holiday table needs to keep the family smiling?

And whoever said she'd only be able to wear her lilac eyelet Brian Atwood heels in the spring is most certainly eating their words right along with their turkey.

Cheers to shaking up traditions (and a few martinis, of course) and to a wonderful Thanksgiving for all!

FOODIE FASHIONISTA: BRINGING NEW INSPIRATION TO THE TABLE

Hi lovely Coco + Kelley readers, it's Crissie from bug&Bear. This month kicks off the Holiday season, and in honor of the fabulous time of year I'm taking a little step back. Instead of bringing you outfits inspired by the food on the table, I'll be sharing outfits inspired by the tablescapes themselves!

First up? This adorable Halloween Party set up spotted on Somewhere Splendid...

The hostess of this fête has an eye for details- she likes to keep things simple, but never skimps. Nothing thrills her more than a pop-of color or a do-it-yourself touch for a delicious finish to her table and her ensemble...

FOODIE FASHIONISTA: SPOOKY SWEETS

While it may be Cassandra's birthday around here, it's also Halloween week, darling coco+kelley readers! Crissie, from bug&Bear, here to share a few of my current obsessions with you.

I love an unexpected combination - pairing beat-up jeans with sexy heels, dressing up a simple black tee with an armor of studs... or snickerdoodle sweet sandwiches with sinister candied apples. Trick or treat!

FOODIE FASHIONISTA: ENTRENCHED IN FALL

Hello readers- it's Crissie from bug&Bear with this week's Foodie Fashionista, enjoy!

There are some things that we expect from fall: boots, hearty meals, trench coats--but neon and gingham? What a pleasant surprise! (ok, ok, the neon is from Burberry Prorsum's Spring 11 collection... but I'm really feeling it for Fall...give a girl a break!) I've always been a fan of incorporating a pop of bright color into an otherwise neutral ensemble, and Burberry does it perfectly with these brightly belted trenches.
I've also always been a fan of beets (they're the best salad bar add-on in my opinion.) And here the tasty golden beet is to a bowl of pasta as a neon belt is to a trench coat. A pop of exciting taste and color.
But let's not forget about the fall shows (from way back in February-how time flies!). Louis Vuitton's 50's inspiration, Burberry's military style and the layers of textures and pattern at Rag & Bone all bring a lot to the table for fall... (see what I did there? Foodie fashion humor at its best.)

And just in case you're wondering... yes, that's bacon in the pasta. Just an extra dose of true perfection to top things off. Yum!

FOODIE FASHIONISTA: FINGER LICKIN' GOOD

Hi pretty readers, it's Crissie of bug&Bear, and this week I am bringing you a little taste of New York Fashion Week (with my foodie twist, of course.)

Marc Jacobs claims the ideas for his Spring 2011 collection came from the 1970s--but I think it's pretty clear it was actually inspired by Molly Shuster's herbs de Provence roast chicken... (and it inspired me as well!)

You see? Dead on. (and I do hope big floppy hats are in for spring... so chic!)

FOODIE FASHIONISTA: LIFE'S A PEACH

Hello lovelies, Crissie here--from bug&Bear. The past few days have brought some refreshingly cool fall weather to New York City, sending me digging through my closet for tights and sweaters. However... it is technically still summer! So this week I'm bringing one last taste of the sunny season (peaches!) and a healthy dose of fall fashion..... enjoy!

FOODIE FASHIONISTA: DREAMY DESSERT

Hello Lovelies! I hope you are ready to start drooling, because this week on Foodie Fashionista I (Crissie from bug&Bear) am sharing such a tasty treat...

Oh... did you think I was talking about the decadent pate feuilletee? (Ok- maybe a little.) But, the real drooling is still to come...

See what I mean? A wonderful balance of summer style and fall colors--who could ask for more? (besides dessert of course...)

FOODIE FASHIONISTA: COASTAL CRAVINGS

Hello, hello! Crissie of bug&Bear here, back with the newest installment of Foodie Fashionista.
This week I'm fishing for inspiration from the sea - lobsters, mussels and the laid-back vibe of dreamy coastal towns. Imagine watching the tide gently roll away, leaving beach glass and seashells behind in the sand...

Don't you feel like skipping off to build a sandcastle? This creamy, neutral palette will guide you seamlessly from summer to fall... just like a yummy lobster corn chowder.

FOODIE FASHIONISTA: INPSIRED BY APRICOT

Hello lovely readers, Crissie of bug&Bear here with another edition of Foodie Fashionista. This week I'm bringing you my favorite summer sandwich recipe...

Apricots, mozzarella and cinnamon on sourdough! It might sound a little strange, but the flavors work beautifully together.

Sort of like the combination of blue and orange. Unusual at first-- but the finished product is absolutely stunning!

FOODIE FASHIONISTA: SWEET SUMMER TREATS

Something about summer makes me crave simplicity - bright + fresh colors, basic patterns and classic foods (especially dessert!) which is why I was inspired by the simplicity of these seasonal treats to create this equally delicious outfit...

Mmmm.... craving Lemon Bars and Blueberry Pie? Both recipes can be found at Sweetcakes Bakeshop!
