Deliciously Dark

They promise me the days are in fact getting longer now, but when I leave the house and come back in total darkness day after day, I find that a little hard to believe.

Rather than let it drive me batty, I've decided to find inspiratino from it instead!

I'm certainly loving the uber-classic all black ensemble and the idea of sitting at such a sumptuous desk! Maybe the dark isn't so bad afterall.

Color Me Happy

Because it's finally Friday! And it's sunny...and over 70 degrees in Seattle...on October 1st! Is this the twighlight zone? Wait, no don't answer that. I'm so looking forward to a bright and beautiful fall-color filled weekend!

I'm all about color inspiration right now. Colors for our new bathroom (we're picking tile and vanities tomorrow), color inspiration for a friend's wedding, and new color ideas to carry us into a new month. I'm in the mood to mix, match and go for a bit of the unexpected.

I hope you've gotten some good inspiration from Apartment 34's September sponsors. If you haven't checked out Sugarcomb Event Design, Bella Card CompanyWendy Mink Jewelry, Dace Clothing and Stella & Dot be sure you do! Each one provides their own brand of bright and shiny eye candy.

Happy Friday luvies!

Light as Air

We finally saw the sun in Seattle after more than a week. I'd like to bottle it up and save it in spaces like these for when the next onslaught of rain comes.

They're such a great breath of fresh air.

Sitting Pretty

If you gotta work, then you might as well make it look good. If my office and desktop were this lovely, I could gladly work 24/7.

Need more inspiration to get you through the week - check out plenty of lust worthy office spaces here.

Happy almost Friday!

Desk Lust

It's been a really long time since I've featured some desk lust but I've got it bad at the moment.

Maybe its the changing of the seasons and the continually darker mornings and evenings that have me coveting a stunning work space at which to stare all.day.long.

I think either of these would do quite nicely.

Do you see the shoe rack - do you see it??

Material Girl

As a lifelong Madonna fan, I've always known the girl can work it, but this photo blew me away.

I wish I, and my office, looked as put together as that, especially at the end of a long week. Like I own the world.

Oh wait, she does. Phew, I feel better now.

Incognito

It's a bird, it's a plane, it's a totally fantastic living room...

At least that's what you're led to believe. In fact - it's m.design's office in LA! Can you image having that be your daily work space?

The actual homes they design are just as stunning.

They beautifully mix all of my favorite pieces - credenzas, great lamps and deskscapes while keeping it all light and bright

All I want to know is when can I move in?

Monday Madness

I feel a hectic week coming on. If only I had a lovely desk-scape like this to draw me out of bed every day.

The lovely frames, a killer lamp, and even an office puppy tucked at my feet. I may have discovered the secret to success!

Office Lust

I'd love to apply my light and airy aesthetic to my office space. I think it would give me clarity, space to brainstorm and really help me focus.

However, if you prefer more colorful desk-scape options, Jen's office over at Made By Girl will rock your world.

Office Lust

It's been quite some time since I experienced serious office space envy. I've been more inclined to dream about being away from work - but if I had an office like the studio of Bespoke Press getting up in the morning would be much easier!

White, clean and bright - surrounded by windows and lovely light. No wonder their letterpress cards are so creative and gorgeous!

They even get to have their sweet pup Ruby join them on a daily basis.

Now that's best mental health benefit I can think of!

Desk Lust

It has been awhile since I've come across some covet-worthy office space, but these desks definitely have me drooling.

I love the mix and match chairs, little pops of green succulents in white vases and of course the rockin' wall paper.

The inspiration boards above this desk are lovely in and of themselves!

This isn't an office space per say, but the chalk board seems like a great place to jot down lists, ideas or daily inspirations.

Ok, I really should go back to work now!

Today's Office Lust

How fun would it be to work in a home office like this (baby not included!).

Five More Minutes

I'm still dreaming of gorgeous office spaces and I don't want to wake up yet.

I'm going to dream I work here for the rest of the day!

Staycation

I recently came across the concept of staycationing, which is certainly what my summer is all about this year, so I have to go to my own backyard, or my own computer, for my inspiration.

Thank god I have places like {this is glamorous} to satisfy my insatiable desk lust.

The deskscape is part of the lust worthy home of photographer Trine Thorsen. humunahumanahumana.

I'm particularly enamored with Trine's adorable retro desk fan. I'd love one of my very own, especially in an office like mine, that lacks air conditioning and bakes in the sun all day.

Maybe I'll have to pick up something like this original 1940's Emerson Electric Company Fan. Or something at Target.

I hope you have a cool and breezy weekend!

Desk of the Day

Short weeks are great, but I wouldn't mind sittin' here for days on end!

oops, can't remember where this came from!  can you?

Lusty Friday

I still don't have my new work area ready for it's online debut just yet.  Until then, I'll continue to lust after the gorgeous office space of others, like this deskscape from Ballard Design.

Sitting here everyday would (almost) seem like a vacation!  I could really use one of those right now...until then, Happy Weekend ya'll.

Deskscapes...

Erin won't be posting today because she's a very busy gal with her big Make Mine A Million event, so I thought I'd post up a little something I'm sure she'd approve of.

We all know that Erin suffers from serious desk lust. Well, it seems that she's not alone.

One of my favorite newly discovered blogs, Ruby Press is asking for submissions of your gorgeous desk spaces. I know that Erin was thinking of styling up her own space at work for you all to see, so you should join in on the fun as well!

Check out the Ruby Press site for more details. I think this means it's time for me to clean up my own work space...

Friday Desk Lust

If you have to go to work on Friday, it would be much easier if it were here.

eek, I can't find my resource!

Or even better, here.  I hope your day is sun filled wherever you are.

Happy Friday!

I Love Lamp

We all know that I have desk lust.  That perfect little inspirational space - where you can actually stand to sit for over 8 hours a day.

So naturally, I also lust for the perfect desk lamp.  Something to brighten up those gray Seattle days.

How fun would it be to sit under the glimmering light of the Arctic Pear Lamp by Ochre.

Or perhaps you'd like to bring a little color into your day with this conical desk lamp by Arteluce.

If you take things a little more seriously I'd go with this gorgeous Equilibrium Table Lamp by Ralph Lauren Home.  I love its sleek look and architectural feel.
How about something a little unexpected - like a table lamp for the desk.

I'm loving how this Studio Tripod Table Lamp from Neena Lighting maintains the architectural and office-y look.

But my absolute favorite is the Studio Angle Draftsman Lamp.

It has such personality - as if it would turn it's little head to you, smile and say nice work.

Speaking of which - I should probably get back to that now!

Desk Lust

Like my to-do list, it never ends...
