Rockin' Rochas

Ahhhh, to live the life of a supermodel. Well, really, just to live in the home of one. I'm loving Coco Rochas' NYC apartment.

The views. The vintage vibe. And the fabulous glamour. Did you catch the YSL "yove saved la rent" piggy bank?!

And we don't even get to see her closet. I can only imagine! Le sigh.

A Great Space

Now that things are getting back to normal after the wedding, I had to find another project to keep my creative juices flowing so next up...home renovation! At this point, I have no idea what I'm getting myself into, but I'm loving step 1: bank inspiration.

Like this rad Brooklyn apartment's kitchen and dinning room.

I abosultely adore the mismatched Ikea chairs - brilliant way to add interest and play off of the (stunning) hard wood floors, and in totally economical fashion. And I spy lots of handy Ikea shelves in the kitchen too. Brilliant and on budget? Love it.

Definitely filing these ideas away for later! Be sure you check out the rest of the apartment here.

Feelin' Beachy

It must be the residual effects of Mexico still lingering, but I'm finding myself suddenly attracted to the beachy feel of natural wood pieces in home decor.

Usually totally not my style, but I'm into the vaction-y feel the twisted and rugged pieces bring to a space. It's like bringing a little bit of your getaway into your home.

I may just have to try it out myself, especially if I could find something like that beautiful farm table...

Oh and btw, have you entered this week's giveway?? There's still time!

More is More

Can you guess how big this NYC apartment is??

I never would have guessed 178 square feet! You've got to read more about the owner here. He got his current interior design job by showing pictures of his place. He's an inspiration to any aspiring designer. Or really anyone trying to make piles look damn good!!

TinekHome

I gushed about tinekhome a long, long time ago, but as I've been thinking about our wedding tabletop design they came to mind again. And for good reason because everything they do is simply stunning.

Don't even get me started about the home of their founder. I'll let you drool amongst yourselves.

Desk Lust

It's been a really long time since I've featured some desk lust but I've got it bad at the moment.

Maybe its the changing of the seasons and the continually darker mornings and evenings that have me coveting a stunning work space at which to stare all.day.long.

I think either of these would do quite nicely.

Do you see the shoe rack - do you see it??

Across the Pond

Those brits know what they're doing when it comes to eclectic style. I'm simply drooling over this apartment.

Did you spot the bookcase wallpaper?

Love the letters on the mantel - they're making me want to redo my own.

How freakin' fabulous is that light fixture?! I'd kill to have it over my dining room table.

A Preview of Coming Adventures

Over the weekend, Cassandra and I went on field trip to visit the lovely Carol, owner of Gatherings.

Not only was Carol the most gracious of hostesses, opening her fabulous shop on a Sunday just for us girls, but her store is a treasure trove of stunning finds. From furnishing to chandeliers, to glassware and tabletop accessories it was almost too difficult to pick something to come home with me. But I managed!

Without even knowing it Carol has set me off a new adventure - the redesign of the bedroom 2009, and the pillow I took home is my inspiration.

Of course, there is the dream room and there's reality and then there's the sweet spot somewhere in between. Here is a sample of my current fantasies.

I won't be undertaking any major renovations, only new lighting, bedding and a few new accessories are on the table. So, let the adventure begin! I'll be sure to keep you posted on my progress.

Feeling Naughty

Just a little decor porn to get your motor running this morning.

Who wouldn't want to wake up to lovely light from some rockin' lamps, surrounded by killer art and feel the warm touch of (faux!) fir underfoot.

Now that I think about it I'd probably end up staying in bed all day admiring my beautiful surroundings. Eh, productivity is overrated anyway.

E is for Me!

I'm not sure of the significance the letter E has for fabulous photographer Anna Wolf (love her!).

I'd sure love to know where she got her E's. I'd love to have a little monogram action at my house. While I'm at it I'll take the gorgeous gray couch and vintage typewriter too!

Overdone, but Still

I know, I know, we've talked the Domino thing to death, but The New York Times threw out some serious blog love in yesterday's article about the mag getting the axe. Go Decorno, Design Sponge, isuwannee and Apt #34 fave Sewbettie!

And lest we forget, two more reasons why Domino rocks.

RIP dear friend.

Let the Sun Shine In

My 2009 style resolution was to keep things light and airy.

Melanie at you are my fave found some great sunshiny examples - I want to mash them all into one perfect, well-lit house!

Office Lust

It's been quite some time since I experienced serious office space envy. I've been more inclined to dream about being away from work - but if I had an office like the studio of Bespoke Press getting up in the morning would be much easier!

White, clean and bright - surrounded by windows and lovely light. No wonder their letterpress cards are so creative and gorgeous!

They even get to have their sweet pup Ruby join them on a daily basis.

Now that's best mental health benefit I can think of!

Serenity Now!

I'm having one of those mornings and all I want to do is go back to bed and start over.  Especially if my bed looked like this.

Although if it looked like that I may never get out of it!

From the Runway

Cassandra is the true expert at taking fashion and turning it into decor but when I saw this Vivienne Westwood dress from the spring RTW shows in London it reminded me of something.

What do you think? Did I get it right?  Either way, I love both the room and the dress!

Beautiful Wallscape

I'm loving this lovely wall set up in the home of Cynthia Rowley.

It includes all of my favorite details - framed art, flowers, books, gorgeous dark hardwoods.  I think it would totally fit in the design style of my current inspiration.   Hmmmm....

More keepin' it real

I don't know where the Selby finds the fabulously creative people they feature, but I'm so happy they open their doors.

The mix of white and bright in editor Kim Hastreiter's NYC home makes this room so welcoming.

I love the glam of the glossy floors, chandelier, and bright green pantry doors.

Two things I heart, bookshelves and high ceilings.

Keepin' it Real

When you're trying to make a house into a home, you're constantly looking to see how others do it.  Come on, don't lie, you know you do.  There are a few extremely creative (and enviable!) people out there who completely do their own thing and make it look effortless, but the rest of us like to peek in.  Throughout the day today I'm going to be bringing you my favorite rooms from covet-worthy real homes.

The gorgeous credenza is just taunting me and I'm a sucker for little chairs with mega personality (yes, I think furniture has personality!)

I'd love to have something to brighten up a room like this red dresser.

Love the windows, the dining table and funky pillows!

I so have fireplace envy.

Do you have a covet worthy home?? Send me pics - I'd love to drool over you!
