A few more pretties I've added to my wishlist this week...

Sweet little pieces from etsy are always a welcome gift (for friends or yourself!). I adore the softness of this little leather pouch, and the undeniable glam of lucite + gold earrings.

These two happen to be my top lusts for the season - this stunning antique ring with my so-hard-to-find birthstone (opal!) surrounded by diamonds. It might be the most perfect thing I've ever seen! And a super soft sweater all tied up with a little black bow.

One of the more practical requests, this book - Compendium of Interior Styles - and a not so practical request in these gorgeous crystal goblets.

First up, while we're on the topic of snuggling, let's talk about how much I'm crushing on designer Donna Wilson's cozy goodies (all available at The Future Perfect) for winter. I love the handpainted Stafforshire dogs the most - each hand painted differently into their sweet little sweaters! Adding 'em all to the wishlist... now!

No matter what kind of year you've had, there's something to be said for jazzin' it up for New Year's Eve.

Even if the old year isn't deserving of a fond farewell, the new one should be welcomed with a proper amount of glitz, glam and glitter, don't you think?

HOLIDAY GUIDE: WHAT I'M LOVING

It's hard to hunt for gifts without finding a few things to love for yourself! These picks are some of my favorites, but would, of course, make fabulous gifts too!

Those of you born in October can probably sympathize when I say it feels impossible to find jewelery with our birthstone (opal) that I actually want to wear. So when I found this piece by Winifred Grace (who will be in Seattle this weekend for a trunk show!!) I had to add it to my wishlist. pacific opal bracelet at winifred grace. $375.

One of my favorite gifts so far this year is this simple book - I think it's the perfect gift for a friend or family member who might be starting a new adventure or chapter in their life. And I love that it's only one line a day - that's about all I have time for before I crawl into bed at night!

I think we all know how I feel about gold anything, so of course I was drawn to this blanket with its contrast of natural linen and bronzed satin trim. While this version is a bit more pricey, for those of you handy in the DIY category, I could see how this would be a simple project! striped linen blanket at patch nyc. $365.

And finally - a fun pick from one of my favorite new online shops! These have got to be the best shot glasses I have ever seen. The Wishlist Begins...

It wouldn't be a birthday week around here without a completely unattainable wishlist (hence the word wish) - so let's start with one of the most insanely gorgeous and original chandeliers I have ever laid eyes upon...

Ladies and gents - I give you the Andre Arbus "Christal Chandelier" - recreated by Baker this market as a part of the debut of the Andre Arbus collection that is nothing short of breathtaking. This, piece, however, was so enchanting that I didn't even notice those horrible ceilings until just now.

The original chandelier hung in Arbus' Paris apartment - can you imagine? Three bulbs are hidden by the crystal 'crown' that surrounds them, all encompassed in a perfect bubble and 'hung like a jewel' as Baker says. Perfect for a birthday princess, if I'm not mistaken.

Girly Things I (Don't Really) Need.

A Chanel beach blanket. Perfect for the moi, who can never get enough black + white. I'd also love this dress whose front looks like it belongs in back... highly romantic and naughty... a fantastic combination, don't you think?

I'd also like to add this completely impractical and sparkly purse to the list. Actually, it is practical. It will hold everything.

Dearies - I can't believe it. Life has been so busy that I missed the first birthday of this little blog!

The Right Style {Today}

Fellow Seattle-based blogger Alek of From the Right Bank to the Left Coast recently offered up a challenge - pick one picture that sums up my style. Just one! Is she nuts? I'm the girl with so many shoes I can't openly admit to the number. My favorite looks change almost daily. But I will do my best to complete the task set before me.

Today I pick this stunning room designed by Ashe + Leandro interior designers because it combines all of the design elements I'm currently coveting. I love the bright white of course, not to mention the beamed ceiling. All the clean lines speak to my distaste for clutter. Then you add in the little pops of color, a wonderfully textured rug and unexpected pieces like the vintage lamp, candelabra and fun glass-topped table. It's classic and personal all at the same time. Definitely something to aspire to.

I've never been a huge fan of Valentine's Day. In fact, I think I refused to even mention it around here last year! I much prefer gifts for no reason at all on any given day of the year.
