Black+White (From Christopher Deane)

Apparently I'm in a black+white mood this week. My obsessions tend to swing between interiors and fashion, and these beautiful cuts from Christopher Deane are no exception...
Would die for that blazer. The trimming and slouchy factor are both complete perfection. And just to show that my obsessions don't die easily, I'm still loving me some lace as well...
Fresh and sexy, wouldn't you say? Just in time for summer.

Get Glossy

I've long loved these 'interiors' from Gloss Creative, but I don't think I've ever shared them here on coco+kelley.

Designers of runways, sets and store windows, my favorite specialty of theirs is the marquees they've created in the past for Moet Chandon at the Melbourne Cup Spring Racing Carnival...
2007:

green draping? yes please.

2006:

(how simply fantastic is that 'chandelier'? this is my favorite!)

2005:

the circle motif was carried throughout - like champagne bubbles!

Wednesday Giveaway: Nary Manivong

I was so happy to receive an email last week introducing me to up and coming designer Nary Manivong who will be showing tomorrow at Fashion Week!

The Spring 2009 collection left me quite impressed, so I cannot wait to see his Fall line...

nary manivong
To celebrate the upcoming show (which you can watch live via his website tomorrow!), and as an early Valentine's present, we are giving away a Nary Manivong original design... this sweet little heart!

Made from natural Hungarian leather, the coin purse is a perfect little accessory, don't you think? I'd certainly love to keep one dangling from my own purse! So, readers, you know the drill!

Pop over to Nary's website and take a peek at more of his Spring collection, then leave a comment letting us know what your favorite look is. The winner will be announced on Valentine's Day!

And, to learn more about the designer himself, be sure to visit his blog as well! Good luck my luvies!

The Queen of Cards

I've been meaning to share with you all my new business cards, created by my friend and super talented designer, Chelsea, who has her own little company here in Seattle called Suite 7 Creative.

She did such an amazing job of capturing the style of coco+kelley with this fun design, and was great at taking the general concept I started with and turning it into a fabulous card. I get complimented on it every time I pull one out! (Psst - she also did my banner!) My favorite part...

Yay for my little mantra! When Chelsea isn't designing custom cards and invitations, she's filling up her Etsy shop with fun little goodies like these cute Valentine's Day cards...

And keeping up her own little blog as well! If you're looking for a custom designer in Seattle, I would highly recommend her for any projects, and if you're lucky enough to live here, you can also pick up her cards being sold at our favorite little Queen Anne coffee shop, Muse. Happy shopping!

Michael Smith Tapped to Decorate White House

I just LOVE a little inside scoop, and this is a good one!

Domino has just reported that designer Michael Smith has been tapped to design the White House interiors for the Obamas. Seriously? I cannot WAIT...

His style is classic perfection, and I think he will do quite an amazing job in keeping things somewhat traditional while making some much needed updates!

Domino
’s editor in chief, Deborah Needleman said of the Obamas’ choice, “It will be exciting to see Michael Smith’s great talent for making grand spaces intimate and livable at work in the White House... (he) has the right amount of reverence for the past and faith in the future that will hopefully allow the rooms to reflect both the history of our nation and the executive mansion and the change and progress that the Obamas want to bring to America.”

I mean, if the man can do this to the smallest guest room ever... just think of what he can do to the White House! (Don't you just love the oversized grey toile-inspired walls ?) Check out the full story right here on Domino.
