My Bliss {Busy Being Fabulous}

Hi, this is Deb from Busy Being Fabulous!

When Erin asked me to be a guest on her beautiful blog I was very excited. Anyone who is familiar with my  ' busy being fabulous'. blog will know my fascination with Scandinavia . So when I was asked  the question ' What is your Bliss' I had an immediate answer.

 I long to travel to the Ice Hotel in Jukkasjarvi Sweden.

For me it is a life long dream and up until now every time I have been to Sweden it has been the wrong time of year .

The making of this extraordinary  Hotel is done by a team of hundreds  durning the icy winter months.

Each year a new Architect is invited to create their version of this winter wonderland. There is something totally magical about the idea of being amongst walls of ice and refracted light . These images have been beautifully  shot by Jan Jordan ....http://www.janjordan.com/

For me this is my bliss maybe its yours too ! See more on  my design  blog, Enjoy!http://www.busybeingfabulous.typepad.com/

As a lady living as an expatriate in the city of Dubai, I can sometimes feel overwhelmed, busy, or stressed out – so it’s important for me (and everybody else!) to find a moment for ME time.  I find utter bliss in sometimes the most simple of things. So, welcome to my ‘Bliss List’. The top 10 things that totally bliss me out. What are yours?

SERIES SUBMISSION: PAS DE DEUX

Let's be honest. Half the fun of cooking up fabulous recipes or mixing up tasty drinks is all about what you're pairing them with. Beautiful linens purchased on a trip to Europe? A set of handmade dishes from a local pottery artist? Even the music plays a role... which is exactly how Shelley of Pas de Deux approaches her fabulous cocktail recipe she's sharing with us today...
Come Fridays, I often like to make a formal toast to the weekend (doesn't everyone?), but as of late I find myself looking for something new and light. This week while puttering around the kitchen, I perused the iPod for a few melodies from Pink Martini's Sympathique album and mixed up an Elderflower Cordial of sorts using this St.Germain recipe...
  • 2 parts brut champagne
  • 1 1/2 parts St. Germain
  • 2 parts sparkling water or club soda
Fill a tall Collins glass with ice. Add Champagne first, then St-Germain, then Club Soda. Stir completely. Garnish with a lemon twist, making sure to squeeze essential oils into the glass.

St. Germain elderflower liquor is also lovely mixed with champagne for Sunday Brunch (and I must mention at this point that the bottle itself is soooo pretty that I just had to purchase it!). Play with the ratios to your liking, but chances are, you'll like it too. Yes indeed, this weekend is off to an enjoyable start...

Ahhh- a girl after my own heart indeed! Thank you for this refreshing recipe and soundtrack to enjoy it by!

Cool Carrie Underwood Hairstyle

would you like to have the low pony Carrie Underwood Hairstyle that everyone has been wearing lately? Here is how you do it. In order to get this Carrie Underwood Hairstyle, the first thing you do is wash your hair with a leave-in conditioner.

Then you wont to apply a smoothing cream to the ends and dry your hair slowly with a round brush and diffuser. Once that is down run squirt a few drops of shine serum into your hands and run them through your hair. Create a deep side part on the right side of your head and pull all of your hair into a low pony tail on the side. Run a couple more drops of shine serum over the top and some smoothing cream through the tips. Secure with an elastic. Take a few small pieces from the ponytail and braid them. Wrap them around the base of the pony and secure underneath with a bobby-pin. Add a sparkly clip and enjoy your new Carrie Underwood Hairstyle!

SERIES SUBMISSION: KEEPING IT CLEAN

How many of us need a little help in keeping our daily lives and spaces a little more tidy? Guilty! Thank goodness for people like Carlee at Deliciously Organized! I'm so excited for her series idea "Keeping It Clean" for quick, easy, and stylish tips for keeping it together during our crazy lives...
A lovely way to keep a space organized without making it too sterile is to find a soft color palette that flows throughout...
Keeping the space fresh, clean and streamlined, this office space uses a beautiful mint to create a look that is put together, and cohesive. The storage baskets keep messy papers and files tucked away, without standing out. A large frame centralized behind the desk keeps inspiration organized, but still accessible. Makes for a divine space to work in...

A fabulous little office space, and a great tip! I love how the all-over color distracts from little pieces of clutter and books. Painting the face of the bookcase is so fun, too. Don't forget to let me know what you're thinking of all these great posts!

My Bliss {A Diary of a Lovely}

Hello all, I'm Helena from A Diary of Lovely. I'm really excited to be guest posting here at Erin´s home while she is enjoying the married life. I'm really excited for gorgeous Erin, she is entering an incredible new adventure in her life and I wish her all the best from the bottom of my heart (and I can't wait to see the result of her amazing wedding when she comes back).

When Erin asked me to be part of her guest bloggers I said yes immediately, I'm really honored to be here and very excited to write about what makes me bliss. Now of course, I'm torn, because to be honest, too many things make me bliss. My family and boyfriend and happiness of course in general. But this is about lighter things and at the moment what really makes me bliss and go "aaaah" and "oooh" are gorgeous colorful scarves. I wear scarves all year long so you can imagine I have a good collection, it's one of the many things I really enjoy buying. Scarves can be worn in so many ways and can dramatically change any possible look. They can add sparkle, coolness, sophistication, anything goes with the right scarf. Here are some of my faves.

I know it's spring time and that I should be thinking about bikinis and sandals but here it's still on the cold side so I couldn't pass this chance to share my passion about scarves. Can you tell that I also love street style? Blissful!

Thank you Erin, this has been so much fun! Be happy!
