INTERIORS TO INSPIRE: ORGANIC MEDITERRANEAN

Welcome to an airy Mediterranean home in Southern California. Infused with natural woods, flooded with light, and simple details, the home is admirable at a minimum.
Clean classic lines are paired with natural materials like stone and wood, keeping the colors simple and achieving drama through contrast and texture. In a room like this, details like the soft, overflowing flowers keeping the heavy stone table at bay are key to making it cozy! (Also - did you note the horizontal paneling in the adjoining room? Gorgeous detail!)
Aged wood and ocean-colored accents make the bedroom a beautiful, soft haven. The repetition of shape in the bookcase makes the small scale of each vase impactful and avoids a cluttered feeling (the shape of the vase is feminine too, reinforcing the bedroom's soft appeal.)
The tall ceilings and architectural windows are balanced by extra luscious draperies and sheers. The decor is minimal but infused with plenty of texture; love that aged trunk at the end of the bed for extra character. A simple branch on the bedside table is an important dash of green (and SO easy!)
Such a simple little moment! The important detail here is the scale of the branch, big big big.
This is a noteworthy mix of formality (very symmetrical), but by using simple pieces, it softens the stiffness formality can sometimes impart. If you don't have your own limestone fireplace, you can use a large piece of furniture; maybe an armoire or even over sized floor mirror flanked with two console tables.
And this lovely feature? Well, this is just to make us jealous...

Now, here's how to get the look in your own home!

Styling tips:
* Choose reclaimed or vintage pieces of furniture with a natural finish.
* Keep your palette clean and simple, accenting with organic wood and contrast for drama.
* Choose organic and soft slipcovers and linens in natural materials like linen and cotton.
* Don't forget a few pieces with vintage iron details, a chair or wall art is a good solution.
* Bundles of fresh flowers that have a muted color are important here to provide a little life and color.
