It's actually slightly amazing that I don't own a single piece of malachite jewelry considering my affinity for this bold green...
About time we change that, don't you think? And, of course, I'd keep them all in a overly glamorous malachite footed box, just like this.

So Rich... So Pretty
Just a little color for thought today, lovelies. I fell head over heels for the middle photo from Prue Ruscoe the second I saw that big gorgeous bunch of hydrangeas and just had to pull out all those rich colors...
Isn't the light saturation just beautiful? A perfect balance of lighter blues and lilacs with intense orange and reds, and just a touch of green... I wonder if you could pull all of this off in one room...?

Wedding Wednesday {THE Dress}
Alright lovelies, despite my best intentions to drag out the wedding dress search (and try on as many as I could because who doesn't love adult dress up!) it was all much easier than I expected.
After working my way through only 3 Seattle bridal stores, at my final stop, the exquiestly edited and exceptionally gracious Bridal Garden, I stumbled up it.
THE dress. The one that made me jump up and down and squeal and giggle and all my friends sigh and say oh wow.
Now, as much as I trust my wonderful husband-to-be, who promised he wouldn't peak until I was ready to reveal the entire look, I'm going to play it safe and tease you with only a small taste until everything is put together. It all comes down to three simple words.
Organza.
Tulle.
Lace.
I'll also give you a few hints about the overall silhouette.

I'm sorry that's all I can give you for now. Next up for me - shoes!
Champagne, Please.
I could SO use one of these right now...
That is... a fully stocked bar, a little party to dress up for, and definitely that bottle of champagne. Some pink walls and a giant clam shell wouldn't hurt either...
By the way... have you seen the fantastic bar renovation over at Eddie Ross? It might be just as equally glorious.

Emerson Love
You know when you stumble upon a blog or a shop online and you wonder if you're the last to discover it? Well, that's how I felt when introduced to emersonmade today over at A Lifestyle Thing. Surely everyone on the planet must know about this exquisite shop but me?
Even these lucky chickens. People, this is a girl after my own heart. Her styling is impeccable. And she's rocking champagne and heels on the farm. Love it.
I couldn't stop browsing through the endless pieces on the emersonmade blog ...
The casual fun... (very j.crew-esque, no?)
The eclectic glamour... (how bad do i want that sequin jacket right now!)
Even a little tabletop.
Darling, the feeling is mutual.

Olive It
Have I mentioned how much I'm drawn to olive green these days? I have? Well too bad... because I have way more olive inspiration to share...
It's the perfect unexpected paint accent to a room - and surprisingly fresh! It can take on an element of glamour and feels almost feminine when paired with glamorous chandeliers and antiques. It's a wonderful neutral when used against stronger colors and patterns. And plays an alternate to rich browns and greys in darker spaces - love those pops of white with the caramel and gold! And if it's all a bit much for you... it makes a fantastically sophisticated accent to any room as well. Yes... olive it.

Seasonal Colorboard
I noticed today that the leaves have started to turn shades of golden yellow, burnt orange and soft siena. I bid a fond farewell to summer and am excited to embrace the beautiful oranges of fall.
They appear to be all I can see right now. Enjoy!

Bedroom Sneak Peek: Mustard + Grey
Well, it's not quite perfect yet (and of course I won't put my photos up until it is!) But, I thought I'd share a little sneak peek of the bedroom since I've been working on it so much... and talking about it so much!
More soon my lovelies... but until then, why not check out my last apartment? I'm blogging on 'moving in' tips today over at CreateGirl!
*since you asked... the grey is valspar paint in lava stone - available at lowes. the chair, grey pillow, table and framed vintage illustration of seattle are all thrift store finds. the white pillow with coral print is ikea (no longer available, unfortunately!).

There's a crisp fall feeling in the air this morning... and the sunlight looks just like this...
It's time to get cozy with my latte and laptop, and play a little email catchup!

Monday Work Wear
With warm weather continuing to linger, this week I'm in the mood for good transition pieces - just the right color, just the right silhouette, and the perfect hint of summer days.
Silka Designs delivers exactly that.

Since I can't wear my wedding dress to work (that's right I found the dress this weekend! Check back on Wedding Wednesday to see a sneak peak!) these looks will have to make do.

Happy {Bridal Bliss} Weekend
Ok girls, the moment is here. Tomorrow, for the first time in my life, I will try on a wedding dress. Probably 50 of them actually since I don't really know what I'm looking for.
Luckily, I'll have my experts on hand to help me make the perfect choice.

Pressing Pause
I wouldn't consider this blog your primary source for all things serious but this week I got a major reminder of the importance of the little things in life that I feel compelled to share.
Apologies in advance if this is a little too Hallmark card for your tastes.

We plan and routinize in an attempt to rest control from what is really a chaotic and unpredictable world. As the days, weeks and months fly past it often becomes hard to discern one moment from another.
The weight of regret or past transgressions swivel our heads to the past, leaving us to stumble through the present, and blind to what the future might having waiting for us just around the bend.
It often takes a shock to the system to get you looking straight ahead and remind you to marvel at what is right before you - all the glorious parts of your day and life that are within arms reach. I encourage you to pull it all in close, hug it tightly and say thanks for everything precious in you life.
Hit pause today. It's completely different than the world was yesterday and will be impossible to replicate tomorrow. I find peace in that thought and I thought you might too.
Thanks for listening. Now back to our regularly scheduled gorgeousness.

Happy (Tulle + Satin) Weekend!
I can hardly wait for tomorrow. My BFF invited me to go dress shopping for her big day (taking place in April 2010) so we'll be spending hours amongst layers of white tulle, satin, rhinestones, lace, silk... and hopefully champagne!
While I don't envision her trying on anything this... foufy? I do think we'll have to try for a pair of these...
As if the girl ever needed an excuse for another pair of heels...
Hope you all have a fantastic fall weekend!!
xo,
cassandra
