Perhaps it's the classic tailoring and simple lines that pull it together? The pop of green accessories? The way the colors play off each other. The real question is - if I saw this on the average woman ... would it still be fashionable? In my mind, that's always the way to separate the crazy ensembles from the ones that really work.
